Found a sweet tile supply place off Central yesterday

I was hunting for some matching bathroom tiles for a patch job and ended up at Aztec Tile off Central. Dude working there showed me their remnant pile out back which is mostly big format stuff but I scored enough for my whole backsplash for like $30. They had all these cool old patterns that I never see at the big box stores. Has anyone else had luck digging through their scraps? I'm thinking about going back to see what else they got.

Doesn't having a mismatched backsplash bother you though? I get the appeal of cheap tiles but using scraps means you're probably going to end up with uneven colors or patterns that don't line up right. I've seen people try this and it looks sloppy unless you're going for that super intentional eclectic look which is hard to pull off. A small patch job is one thing but a whole backsplash deserves something consistent. What if you run out and can't find more of the same lot?

Harper, matching colors from scraps is definitely tricky but I had good luck sorting through theirs by holding tiles together in natural light.
