Hit 25 years in the trades and my old scaffold finally gave out

We were stripping a tile roof off a house near the North Valley last Tuesday and my 12 foot walkboard cracked right under my boots. Been using that same plank since I started roofing in 99. Nobody got hurt but it got me thinking, Ive patched this roof dozens of times and never once kept track of how many squares Id actually done on that one property. So I counted the invoices, 47 full tear offs and re-roofs in 25 years. That number surprised me more than the plank breaking. How do you all track your long term projects or do you just let the work pile up until something snaps?

47 tear offs on one roof is wild. That plank had to have been through some serious weather and weight over all those years. Makes me want to start writing down every job I do, even if it seems small at the time.
