My contractor painted the trim before the walls back in 2019

Three years ago I hired a guy named Frank to redo my living room in Albuquerque and he insisted on painting the baseboards before the walls. I argued with him for a solid ten minutes but he said it saves time on touch ups. Has anyone else run into this backwards method actually working out?

Yeah I gotta say that sounds backwards to me. Painting trim first means you gotta be real careful cutting in the walls or you'll get roller marks all over the fresh white trim. Seems like more work in the long run, not less.

Wait, have I been doing it wrong this whole time cause honestly that makes a lot of sense now?
