My contractor talked me into spray foam instead of fiberglass and I'm kicking myself

Oh man, spray foam is like that smooth-talking salesman who promises you the world and then your walls start sweating. I had a buddy who went all in on the closed cell stuff and now his attic smells like a chemical plant exploded and the electric bill is somehow higher than before. The worst part is when you have to cut into it for a repair, it's like trying to carve through a block of dried cement with a butter knife. My neighbor used fiberglass and his house is fine, he just wears a long sleeve shirt when he goes up there and calls it a day. Live and learn I guess, at least you can tell people you have "premium" insulation while you're sweating through your drywall.

And the thing about spray foam that nobody mentions is once it's in, you're stuck with it forever. That stuff doesn't just come out if you change your mind, you're basically remodeling the whole wall cavity. I've seen people have to rip out perfectly good drywall just to get to a wire, and the foam just laughs at you the whole time.
