Rant on sanding drywall - my way was wrong for years

I used to sand drywall joints with 150 grit cause I thought smoother was better. A old timer told me I was making more work for myself and to use 100 grit instead. He said 'you aint painting a car, your covering mud lines.' Changed to 100 grit last month and I finish twice as fast with less dust. Anyone else get stubborn about sandpaper grit and regret it?

100 grit? Really? Huh, I was using 120 like a dummy.

Oh wow, @the_tessa 100 grit is actually my go-to for rough shaping! But I'm curious, what kind of wood are you working with that 120 felt wrong?

Bet @the_tessa probably still using 120 and wondering why it takes all day too.
