Talked to a plumber at the hardware store and now I'm rethinking my whole bathroom tile plan
I was comparing grout colors at Lowe's yesterday and this older plumber walked by and said 'you know that matte tile is gonna show every bit of hard water in Albuquerque.' He was right, I never even thought about our super hard water here. Has anyone else changed their tile choice after a random chat with a pro?

Dark glossy tile hides the spots way better with my hard water.

My buddy Jake tore out his whole master bath last year in Phoenix and went with this real dark brushed concrete tile. Looked incredible for about three weeks until the water spots from their hard water turned it into a cloudy mess. He spent another $400 on a special sealant and a water softener just to keep it looking half decent. Now he jokes that the plumber at his local supply house was the only one who warned him, but he didn't listen either. So yeah, that random guy at Lowe's probably just saved you a major headache and a bunch of cash.
