That epoxy countertop kit from Lowe's lasted about 4 months before it started peeling

I put one of those countertop epoxy kits on my kitchen island in April and by August there were bubbles and peeling near the sink. Ended up having to sand it all off and hire a guy to do it right for $600. Anyone else have bad luck with those DIY kits around here?

@joel_martinez yeah that moisture thing got me too, ended up just painting mine instead.

Wait till you see what happens with dust trapped under that paint.

Did you put it on pretty thick near the sink area? I did the same thing on my bathroom vanity and regretted it quick. The heat from hair dryers and just normal moisture made mine bubble up within a few months. Had to rip it all out and just get a laminate top from a local shop. Those kits are a real pain to get right, especially around any kind of water.
