Tile leveling clips vs. the old school method of eyeballing it... I learned the hard way
I did my own kitchen backsplash about 2 years ago and just used spacers and hoped for the best. It looked fine from 5 feet away. Last month I did my buddy's bathroom floor and he made me use those spinny leveling clips. Night and day difference. The floor is dead flat. Now I look at my kitchen and all I see are the little lippage spots. It took maybe 20% longer with the clips but the result is way better. Has anyone else switched and gone back to the old way?

My buddy Mike redid his shower last spring. Refused to use clips. Said it was a waste of money. Three months later the tiles at the bottom started looking real uneven from all the water pooling in the dips. He had to rip out the bottom two rows and redo them with clips. Cost him an extra weekend and a trip to the tile store.

Yeah, that's rough @jasonf17. I used clips on a small floor job and it made me want to swear off spacers for good.
