Used to swear by spray foam insulation, now I'm team rockwool all the way

For years I was that guy who grabbed the froth packs for every attic project. Fast forward to last August, I'm doing a reno on a 1950s house near Old Town and the spray foam contractor quoted me $3,400. Switched to mineral wool batts for $900 and did it myself over a Saturday. Has anyone else ditched spray foam after seeing the price jump?

Dude same here. I did a crawl space last fall and the spray foam quote was just insane, like double what I paid a few years ago. Switched to rockwool and honestly the stuff is way easier to work with too, no more worrying about overspray or curing times lol.

Oh yeah the price jump is no joke! Rockwool's been a game changer for me too, especially when you're working in tight spots. Pro tip though, make sure you wear a good mask and long sleeves when cutting it, that stuff can get really itchy if you're not careful.
