Vent: I was dead wrong about those spray foam insulation kits

I spent years thinking the canned spray foam from Home Depot was a total joke (you know, for small gaps around pipes). Then I used the Great Stuff Pro gun kit on a rim joist in my 1950s Albuquerque house last month, and honestly, it sealed better than the fiberglass I used in the other room. The $35 gun made the application way cleaner and I got way more coverage per can. Has anyone else tried the pro version versus the straw cans or am I just late to the party?

The Pro gun is a total game changer. Way less mess and you can actually aim the stuff where it needs to go. Your mileage may vary but for rim joists it's worth the extra money.

Did your buddy have trouble with the regular gun too, @the_thea? My friend borrowed a Pro and said it was night and day easier.

Damn, did the Pro gun really make that big of a difference in how even the foam came out?
