Why does nobody talk about soaking cabinet doors in a water and vinegar mix before painting?
I was about to drop $400 on new doors for my kitchen in Albuquerque until my neighbor said to pull them, soak them 20 minutes in a bucket of 50/50 white vinegar and water, and scrub off 30 years of grease in one pass, so has anyone else tried this or found a better ratio?

Did you add a little dish soap to cut the grease faster, or just stick with the vinegar mix?
