Appreciation post: the 3am streetlight outside my window quit strobing after the city swapped the bulb
I know this sounds boring but stick with me (it's 3:40am and I'm wired from a night shift so this is my big discovery). That lamp at the end of my block in Akron strobed every 2 seconds for about 7 months, and I got so used to it that I'd time my breathing to it while trying to fall asleep. Last Tuesday a truck showed up, a guy in a bucket swapped one part, and it's been dead steady ever since. Turns out it was a bad photocell, not the bulb, which is why it kept acting up after dark and settling down around dawn. I almost miss the rhythm now (almost). Anyone else had a streetlight fix change their whole sleep setup, or am I the only one who builds their night around stuff like this?
