Found a site at 2am that lists what every state calls a bubbler, and Wisconsin is not alone
I was up at 1:40am on a Tuesday and somehow landed on a linguistics page that maps out drinking fountain vs water fountain vs bubbler by region, complete with counts per state. Turns out bubbler shows up in Rhode Island and parts of Massachusetts too, not just Wisconsin like I always figured, and I sat there reading the comments for way longer than I want to admit. What random word map kept you scrolling past midnight?

The part that got me was "bubbler shows up in Rhode Island and parts of Massachusetts too." So is it a pocket thing, like a few towns near the border, or does it hold steady across whole chunks of those states? I grew up saying water fountain and everyone around me did too, so I always assumed the map was clean lines. Do the counts show it thinning out or does it just stop dead at the state line?
