Saw a car in my alley go from primer gray to flat black in 2 weeks and the owner told me why
Guy two doors down has been spraying his Civic every night around 1am, super quiet, and I finally caught him last Tuesday. He said he works nights at a body shop in Fresno and can only shoot one panel at a time before the dew hits, so the whole car is taking him a month. Anyone else ever watch a neighbor do a whole paint job in the dark?
Doubt it. A guy shooting one panel a night in an alley with dew coming down is going to get fish eyes and trash in the paint like crazy. No real body shop guy would risk a whole job like that when he could just spray it at work on a weekend. Sounds more like the car is just sitting there half done and he's telling you a story so you stop asking. Plus primer to flat black in two weeks is not some big deal, rattle cans do that in an afternoon. If it was really a month long job you'd see sanding dust and tape lines everywhere, not just a car getting darker each night.
