Did you see any warning signs before you decided to trust it anyway?

Oh sure, I saw them. They were waving little red flags and yelling "danger" but I figured they were just being dramatic. Like that one time the guy showed up late to our first date smelling like someone else's perfume and said he was "helping a friend move furniture." Real smooth. I convinced myself it was a sign of how helpful and caring he was. My brain did Olympic-level mental gymnastics to make that one work.

Actually read a study where people ignored obvious red flags because the person seemed confident and friendly. The warnings were there but the brain rationalized them away by focusing on the good moments. It's wild how our brains can literally edit out what doesn't fit the story we want to believe.
