Spent $40 on a 3 AM blacklight to find cat pee, that's not what it found
My cat started spraying near the baseboard last month. I kept missing the spot, so I ordered a UV flashlight at 2 in the morning after reading a forum post. Forty bucks for the rechargeable one. It lit up the whole wall, and not just the pee. There were hand prints, food splatters, some kind of streak I don't want to name. Long story short, I spent the next 4 hours scrubbing a wall I thought was clean. Still can't find the actual pee spot though, the blacklight made everything glow. Anyone else ever made their own house look like a crime scene with one of these?

Did you at least put on some gloves and safety glasses before you turned your living room into an episode of CSI? Because that is exactly how these things go, you buy a cheap tool to solve one small problem and end up with ten new ones. In my experience the pee spot is usually still glowing a weird yellow green while every other stain just looks like a faint blur, so maybe wait until dark and check it from a few feet back. Your mileage may vary on that trick but it saved me from scrubbing half my kitchen for no reason. Worst part is now you know too much about that wall and you can never unsee it.
