That commenter who told me my guitar strumming was off beat

Some random dude on a cover video said I was rushing the chorus, so I recorded myself with a metronome app and yeah he was totally right. Has anyone else had a stranger online fix their playing without even trying?

Wait are we really giving random YouTube commenters credit for fixing peoples playing? Half the time those dudes are just gatekeeping and flexing their music theory knowledge on people who are having fun. I guarantee you if you posted that same cover without asking for feedback half the comments would be saying your strumming was fine lol.

Haha yeah I feel that. It's tough because sometimes you do get some genuine helpful stuff mixed in with the noise, but people are always gonna have opinions whether you ask or not. @christopher943 I get what you're saying too, but I think the vibe of the person giving feedback matters a lot more than just calling something out.
