The 2am trick that got my frozen pipe flowing without a plumber
Last Tuesday around 2am I heard water running where it shouldn't, and sure enough the pipe under my kitchen sink in Cleveland was frozen solid. I tried a hair dryer for 20 minutes with no luck, then remembered my neighbor saying to wrap the pipe in an old towel and pour hot water over it slowly. Took about 15 minutes but the water started moving again and I didn't pay the $180 emergency plumber fee. Has anyone else dealt with this, and does the towel trick actually work long term or am I just buying time?
