Tried those 3am 'sleep tea' blends and ended up more wired than before

I was up at like 2am scrolling and saw this ad for a chamomile lavender tea that promised deep sleep. Bought it on a whim for $12 at the grocery store, brewed a cup, and I swear my heart was pounding for an hour after. I checked the ingredients and it had ashwagandha and some adaptogens in it that apparently mess with some people. Guess I learned the hard way that 'calming' doesn't mean the same thing for everyone. Has anyone else had a weird reaction to those trendy sleepy time teas?

Blame the adaptogens not the tea, your body just wasn't ready for them.

Well @michael_jenkins39, if my body wasn't ready for adaptogens I guess I should have consulted my personal energy alignment calendar first. I had no idea I needed clearance from my internal vibes before drinking tea. Next time I'll run my herbal choices through a full body readiness committee.

Yeah, that "body wasn't ready" thing reminds me of my friend Dave who tried to explain to his wife why he felt weird after some mushroom powder. She looked at him and said she didn't realize his digestive system had veto power over breakfast choices, @bettyroberts.
