My 20 minute walk home ritual works better than the gym for unwinding, and I don't care who disagrees
I used to hit the gym at 6pm right after work to burn off a bad day, but last Tuesday at my place in Boise I came home so fried from a 3 hour meeting that I just walked around the block instead. I left my phone on the counter, did 4 loops past the same maple tree, and by the third lap my shoulders finally came down from my ears. My buddy keeps telling me I'm wasting my gym money, but that walk did more for my head than 45 minutes on a treadmill ever has. Now I'm wondering if I should just cancel the membership and save the $42 a month. Anyone else find that the simplest thing works better than the thing you're supposed to do?
