Update: spent 2 hours untangling my jump rope from a box fan, and now I just leave it in a knot
So I keep a jump rope and a box fan in my garage to blow off steam after work, nothing fancy. A few weeks back I tossed the rope on the fan to grab a drink and it wrapped around the blade housing so bad I had to cut it loose. That turned into 2 hours of picking at knots with a butter knife and a flashlight, way longer than it should have taken. These days I just loop it once and let it hang there, because fighting it twice taught me the fan always wins. Does anyone else have a dumb setup in their garage that turned into a whole project?
Wait, you had to cut it loose and then still spent 2 hours on it? If you cut the rope, what was left to untangle? I feel like I'm missing something here. Maybe you cut a different rope or the fan cord got wrapped too?
