Dropped $40 on a hand grinder for my 3pm cup and I want my money back
I grabbed a $40 manual burr grinder off Amazon two weeks ago because I make my afternoon cup at my desk and the office drip machine makes it taste like wet cardboard. The reviews promised a consistent grind in about a minute, but I'm standing there cranking this thing for what feels like 5 minutes and my forearm is dead by the time the water heats up. The grind comes out so uneven that half my cup tastes bitter and the other half tastes like tea, which defeats the whole point of switching from the office pot. For $40 I expected better, and now I'm wondering if I should just buy pre-ground and deal with it. Did I get a lemon or is that just how all cheap hand grinders are?
