Shoutout to the $9 pour over cone I almost gave away, vs the $60 machine sitting in my cabinet
So I got a cheap plastic pour over cone about 8 months ago as a gift and kind of rolled my eyes at it. For a while I was using my $60 drip machine because it seemed easier, but I kept getting that flat, bitter taste around 3pm and couldn't figure out why. One day the machine broke mid brew so I dug out the cone and tried it with water at 200 degrees and a 3 minute pour. The difference was nuts, the coffee actually tasted like the bag said it would. Now the machine is in the cabinet and I do the cone on my back porch in Phoenix around 3:30 most days. Has anyone else found that the cheap manual thing beats the fancy auto one?
