Air fryer preheating changed my chicken wings completely
I always threw wings straight into my air fryer cold until last Tuesday. Decided to run it empty at 400F for 3 minutes first, then added the wings with a light toss of baking powder and salt. The skin came out crispy like restaurant style, not flabby, and the inside stayed juicy. It only added 3 minutes to my total cook time of 22 minutes. Has anyone else noticed a big jump in texture when you preheat for proteins?
Preheating never made that kind of difference for me, honestly. I tested it side by side a couple times and the wings came out about the same, so now I just skip it and save the time.
