Burned my garlic bread so bad the smoke alarm went off at 6am
I was in my kitchen in Austin trying to rush breakfast before work and set my air fryer to 400 instead of 350. The bread came out black as charcoal but scraping off the burnt part actually left a crispy inside that tasted amazing with butter. Has anyone else salvaged a total air fryer fail like that?

Scrape that burnt layer right off, I've done it with toast in a regular oven before. The trick is to gouge it with a butter knife while it's still hot so you get the good part underneath without tearing the bread up. I'd rather eat that salvaged middle than perfect toast any day of the week, honestly. That charred outside just seals in the moisture somehow and leaves it super soft and buttery on the inside.

Did you try scraping the burnt layer off though because that middle part is usually still perfect.
