Getting frozen fries crispy without preheating? Totally doable.

I got tired of waiting 5 minutes for the air fryer to heat up every time, so I just threw the frozen fries in cold and added 2 extra minutes to the timer. They came out just as crunchy and saved me time - has anyone else tried skipping the preheat step?

Yall ever notice how we're constantly finding ways to skip steps that used to feel mandatory? It's like once you realize those "rules" are just suggestions, you start questioning everything - my buddy does the same with cooking pasta, just drops it in cold water and it works fine. Honestly makes me wonder how many other things we're wasting time on just cause someone told us it was the "right" way.

My uncle Tom was a mechanic for 35 years and he always said half the steps in any manual are just there to make you feel like you're doing something important. He'd skip half the torque specs and just go by feel, never had a single engine blow up on him. It really makes you look at everything different - like folding fitted sheets, why do we even bother? Or preheating the oven for a full 15 minutes when most stuff goes in cold just fine. I bet half the stuff we do "the right way" is just tradition dressed up as rules.
