Heard a guy at the gym say you should preheat your air fryer just like an oven...

It takes maybe 3-4 minutes longer but my frozen fries came out way crispier on the outside and soft in the middle. Has anyone tried preheating for stuff like chicken tenders or does it dry them out?

Funny how we skip steps like preheating just to save a couple minutes, then wonder why things don't turn out right. Same thing happens with my cast iron pan. Chicken tenders work great preheated, just check them a minute early so they don't overcook.

Honestly preheating is the key, just like craig said check chicken tenders a minute early so they don't dry out.

@jasonf17 is treating this like we're debating nuclear physics or something lol. Preheating an air fryer is a nice little hack for frozen stuff yeah but I've also tossed cold chicken tenders in a cold basket and they came out fine, just flipped them halfway and gave them an extra minute or two. The difference is so small I doubt most people would even notice unless they're side by side comparing.
