Just realized my air fryer basket liner hack was costing me money

I used to buy those disposable parchment paper liners for my air fryer, like $8 for a pack of 100. Figured they were saving me cleanup time, which they did. But last week I noticed my chicken wings weren't getting crispy on the bottom anymore, and I thought the air fryer was dying. Turns out the liners block airflow way more than I thought, so the food sits in its own grease. I wasted probably $30 on liners over 6 months and got subpar results the whole time. Now I just wash the basket after every use, which takes like 2 minutes with a sponge and soap. Has anyone else found that certain accessories actually make air frying worse?

Silicon mats are even worse, they trap steam and ruin crust.

My buddy ruined a whole batch of cookies on a silicon mat last week, said the bottoms were like chewing on rubber soles.
