Just wasted $15 on silicone air fryer liners that melted everywhere

I bought those silicone baskets they sell for air fryers because I was sick of scrubbing the mesh tray after every single batch of wings. First two uses were fine, then I preheated the fryer to 400 and tossed the liner in with some frozen fries. Ten minutes later I opened it up and the liner had melted into a goopy mess stuck to the bottom of the basket. Had to scrape it off with a butter knife and the whole thing smells like burnt plastic now. I lost $15 and about 45 minutes of cleanup time. Anyone else had these fail on them or did I just buy the wrong brand?

Throw those things in the trash, they're a fire hazard waiting to happen. I learned the hard way too, the only liners that actually work are the paper ones that look like coffee filters. Just get a pack of those from the grocery store for like 8 bucks and toss em after each use.

Honestly I still can't believe people use those reusable silicone liners for anything besides maybe cookies. Melted one straight onto my oven rack and it was a nightmare to scrape off. Paper liners are just foolproof and cheap enough that I don't mind tossing them after each use. Plus they don't leave that weird chemical smell some of the silicone ones get after a while. Who wants to risk that cleanup again when paper liners are sitting right there in the store for pocket change?
