My frozen chicken wings turned into a smoky mess on Friday night
I put a full bag of frozen wings in my air fryer at 400 degrees, and after about eight minutes, the kitchen filled with smoke from the grease dripping onto the heating element. I had to open all the windows and wave a towel around to clear it out. Is there a better way to cook frozen wings without setting off the smoke alarm?

My air fryer did the exact same thing with frozen burgers last week. Tbh, I just thaw them in the microwave for a minute first now. It cuts the smoke down a lot.

But doesn't that make the patties a bit rubbery?

Seriously, a little smoke means you're doing it right. That's just the frozen grease hitting the hot part, it happens. Did you try putting a bit of water in the bottom drawer of the air fryer? It catches the drips. Also, maybe don't start them at 400, go lower for a few minutes first.
