My sister in Portland showed me a trick for air fryer potatoes

I was visiting her last month and she made these amazing crispy potatoes in her air fryer. She told me to soak the chopped potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before drying them and adding oil. They came out so much better than mine ever do, with a perfect crunch. Has anyone else tried this soaking method for other veggies?

Actually, the soaking trick is for drawing out starch (which is what makes them crisp up). Works great for potatoes, but I wouldn't soak most other veggies. They'd just get waterlogged.

What about zucchini fries though?

Yeah that soaking thing is a game changer for potatoes. Tried it with sweet potato fries last week and they got way crispier than usual. The key is to really dry them off good with a towel before the oil.
