Serious question, the lady at the farmers market in Dayton showed me her trick for air fryer zucchini and now mine tastes bland
Ran into her at the market off 2nd Street last Saturday while buying a few squash. She said to salt the slices and let them sit for 20 minutes before they go in. I tried it that night at 400 for 8 minutes and it was night and day better than my usual. Now everything else I make tastes flat by comparison. What else am I missing with veggies in these things?
Tried the salt trick on some green beans last month after my neighbor swore by it, and sure enough they came out way better than the soggy ones I used to get. The big surprise was brussels sprouts, though. I cut them in half, tossed them with a little oil and garlic powder, and did 375 for about 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway. They got crispy on the edges like little chips and my kid ate them without complaining, which never happens.
