Shoutout to the guy at the Walmart in Amarillo who warned me about parchment paper in the air fryer

I was grabbing a roll of that precut parchment stuff last month and he stopped me to say the edges curl up into the heating coil real easy if you don't weigh them down with food. Sure enough, my first batch of frozen fries sent a corner of paper right up against the coil and it started smoking at 400 degrees, so I had to yank the basket out and wave a dish towel at my smoke alarm like a maniac. So do you all cut your liners down small, or is there some trick to keeping them flat I'm missing?
