Showerthought: Preheating the air fryer vs not preheating, is it worth the extra 3 minutes?
I spent a solid 2 hours testing chicken thighs back to back, preheated vs cold start, and the texture difference was so tiny I honestly can't tell if I just wasted my Sunday afternoon, anyone else feel like the preheat debate is overblown?

I respect the dedication but" - that's the part that got me. My friend Dave tried this exact same thing with wings last month. He was all in on the preheat camp. Made two batches, swore the preheated ones were crispier. Then his wife did a blind taste test on him and he picked the cold start ones as better. He was so mad. Told me he felt like a fool for wasting a whole afternoon on chicken science. So yeah, probably overblown.
