Spent $45 on a silicone air fryer liner and it made my chicken wings soggy every time
I tossed the liner after three tries because it trapped all the steam underneath, so now I just use parchment paper with holes poked in it for $3 and the crispiness is way better, has anyone else had trouble with those silicone mats?

I had the exact same problem with a silicone mat from Kohls last year. My wings came out greasy and limp after 20 minutes at 400 degrees. It got me thinking how companies push these expensive "game changer" products when the simple stuff works better. Like how people spend $50 on fancy scrub brushes but a good old sponge and elbow grease cleans just as well. I think we get tricked into believing more money means better results when actually it's about using the right tool the right way. Have you noticed quartz countertops are another one where people pay a fortune but you can't put a hot pan on them without worrying about damage?

Saw a chef say silicone traps steam, cheap paper works better.

Totally agree @susan649, spent $30 on a silicone mat and my wings came out soggy while parchment paper nails it every time
