The day my air fryer basket turned see-through, no joke

I got a $40 air fryer from a yard sale in Phoenix back in March, and the nonstick coating started flaking off after about 2 months of near daily use. Yesterday I pulled out the basket and could see the heating element right through the mesh, it looked like a colander wearing a bad wig. Anyone else have their basket wear down that fast, or did I just buy junk someone already beat up?

Man, come on. You got a used air fryer for forty bucks from some random yard sale in Phoenix, and you're shocked the coating didn't last forever? That thing was probably already half dead when you bought it. Nobody sells a perfectly good air fryer at a yard sale unless they know something. Two months of daily use on top of however many months the original owner used it, that's honestly not terrible. Plus, Phoenix heat does weird stuff to plastics and coatings, I've seen car dashboards melt down there. I'd say you got exactly what you paid for, and now you get to learn how to cook with a regular metal basket like the rest of us.
