Vent: Spent $40 on silicone baskets and they melted in the air fryer

Put a cheap silicone basket set in at 400 for fries and ended up with a rubbery mess melted to the tray. Anyone else have liners fail on them and what actually holds up?

Are silicone liners even rated for that high of heat or is everybody just assuming they are because they feel like rubber? I learned the hard way that parchment paper cut to size is way more reliable and costs pennies per use.

Wait, didn't someone actually test those silicone liners on YouTube or something? I remember watching a video where the guy put multiple brands in an oven at 500 degrees and some of them literally started smoking and peeling. The ones that survived were super thick and expensive, not the cheap sets from Amazon. Parchment paper is just so much simpler to me, I can cut it custom for my baking sheets and throw it away without worrying if the silicone is gonna get brittle over time.
