Caught a corroded ground strap behind the firewall at KBWI today
I was doing a routine walkaround on a 737 at BWI and noticed a faint green crust hiding under the engine mount, pulled the panel and found 3 strands left on a 10 gauge strap that probably would've fried the APU start circuit by next month, anyone else seen this kind of corrosion sneak up on the 7 series lately?

Yeah, you really caught that just in time huh? Green crust is like the quiet alarm bell, it never looks bad until it's basically done for. I swear these 737s hide corrosion in the dumbest spots, especially around the firewall where nobody wants to dig. Ten gauge is way too thin to be playing games with, that APU circuit would've gone up in smoke for sure. Good eye pulling the panel, most folks would've just signed it off and walked.
