Hit 500 hours on a single engine teardown and the paperwork still wasn't done

That's when I realized our shop's admin process is broken, because the actual wrench time was only about half of that total. Anyone else's shop drowning in digital sign-offs?

Our last Cessna 172 annual took three days just for the digital logbook.

It's the same story everywhere. Digital stuff that's supposed to save time just makes simple tasks take forever.

Wasn't there a promise that all this digital stuff would make us faster? I used to believe it, but seeing numbers like yours proves it wrong. It reminds me of what @seanjackson said about the Cessna annual. The actual fix is quick, but the system around it eats up all the time. We swapped paper for screens but kept all the same old steps, just with more clicks and passwords. Now the real work gets buried under a mountain of virtual paperwork that nobody has time to fix.
