PSA: found a cracked exhaust hanger on a Cessna 172 during a preflight at Addison and signed it off as a squawk
Was doing a preflight on a 172 at Addison last Tuesday and caught a hairline crack in the exhaust hanger right at the weld, so I squawked it and grounded the plane. Chief pilot said I was overreacting on a 40 dollar part, but I told him a cracked hanger can dump CO straight into the cabin. Do you log something like that as a no-go or just note it and let it fly?
