Shoutout to the lead at the Fort Worth hangar who told me to stop signing off squawks on verbal confirmations
He pulled me aside after an inspection and said, "If it is not in the logbook or the task card, it did not happen." Two days later a plane came back with a fuel leak we thought was fixed, and nobody could prove what was or was not done. I have started writing every step down now, even the small ones. Has anyone else had a sign-off come back to bite them because it was only ever verbal?
