Spent 45 minutes hunting a fuel leak that was just a loose clamp

Chased a weeping fuel line on a 172 for almost an hour yesterday, pulled all the cowling and checked every fitting, turns out the clamp on the return line just needed a quarter turn. Has anyone else had a simple fix eat up their whole afternoon?

Yeah I remember reading about a similar story where a guy spent half a day chasing a fuel leak that was just a loose clamp on a Cessna 310. It's always the stupid simple stuff that gets you. I bet you double check every clamp now before pulling the cowling again.

Happens every time. The one fastener you skipped over ends up being the culprit. Always humble to find out an hour of work could have been thirty seconds with a screwdriver.
