This old wiring diagram from 1982 threw me for a loop

I was digging through some old manuals my mentor left me and found a wiring diagram for a 1982 Cessna 172. It used a different kind of circuit breaker layout than anything I've seen in the last 10 years. There were like 8 separate breaker positions for things that now get lumped into one. Made me realize how much simpler troubleshooting has gotten with modern panels. Has anyone else run into older diagrams that made you scratch your head?

The fuse panel in my uncle's old 1968 Ford pickup had me swearing at it for two weekends before I finally gave up. I used to think old diagrams were just needlessly complicated but that truck taught me each separate breaker was actually a clue for finding shorts. Now I kind of appreciate how those old layouts force you to think step by step instead of just swapping a modern breaker.

Yeah those old Cessna diagrams are brutal, just trace each wire one at a time.
