That gym story really sticks with you, doesn't it? What part of the instructions do you think was the actual failure? Was it assuming someone knew the basics, or just skipping a step that seemed too obvious to say out loud? Sometimes the gap between what we say and what people hear is huge. Makes you double-check how you explain even simple things.

Honestly it's just a gym story though, right? People are acting like it's some deep lesson in communication. Most of the time you just tell someone what to do and they figure it out. Overthinking every little instruction seems like a waste of energy.
