Back in 2010, I'd always run alarm wire through the same hole as the low voltage lighting, but now I keep them separate after a job in Tampa had constant false triggers.

What's your rule on cable separation for different systems to avoid interference?

Yeah, learned that one the hard way too. My early jobs probably had more false alarms than a haunted house.

Totally feel that, my first install had so many false trips I thought the place was actually haunted lol.

That "low voltage lighting" part is the key. Those transformers can put out a lot of electrical noise. I keep all alarm and sensor wiring at least a foot away from any power supply now, not just the low voltage wires. It solved my own false alarm problems.
