Chose a recessed panel over the old can style in a 1920s house and I'm still not sure I picked right
Back in 2019 I took a job in a house near Dayton with plaster walls and lath showing, and the homeowner gave me the call between a recessed box or mounting a can on the surface. I went recessed because it looked cleaner and hid the wires, but fishing that lath took me two full days and a lot of cussing. Anyone else run into this on old plaster, and did the surface mount ever turn out better for you?
