Got bit by a bad tamper switch on a school job today

Ngl, I was installing a brand new DSC panel at a middle school in Denver and one of the wireless tamper switches on a door contact was reading open right out of the box. Spent like 45 minutes walking around with my meter trying to figure out if I messed up the wiring or the magnet gap. Finally swapped it with a spare I had in my truck and it worked perfect. Has anyone else had a batch of these just fail fresh from the factory?

Used to think that kind of thing was just installer error. But after pulling three bad tamper switches out of the same box last month, yeah, I'm a believer now.

Three bad ones in one box, that's rough, got a similar story from a job back in June.
