I was convinced wireless sensors were a bad idea for commercial jobs until I saw the battery life on the new Ajax units last a full 18 months in a busy warehouse.
My boss made me install a system with them on a job in Cincinnati last year, and after checking the logs yesterday, not a single low-battery alert has popped up, which has me rethinking my whole stance on running wire everywhere. Has anyone else had a wireless setup hold up that well in a high-traffic spot?

Hold on, 18 months isn't that long. I've seen wired systems go a full decade without a single service call. That battery will die at the worst possible time, and then you're stuck.

Ugh, that's the whole modern life gamble right there! We trade long-term reliability for a little bit of short-term convenience.

But Brian, how often do you actually test that wired backup?
