Just found out most wireless alarm sensors have a 5 year battery life max, not 10

Was reading through a tech sheet from Honeywell last night and saw the fine print. All those installs I did promising customers 10 years? Yeah that's only in perfect lab conditions. Real world you're looking at 4-5 years tops. Has anyone else been burned by this?

Oh geez, that's the story of my life right there. It's like how my phone says "fast charging" but really it just means slightly less slow. Everything's fine print these days, nothing is as good as they advertise.

Honestly, is it really that deep though? Like yeah, "fast charging" is a stretch, but compared to the old days of leaving your phone on the charger overnight just to get a 50% battery, it's actually kinda fast. Ngl, feels like we're just nitpicking at this point. Everything has some fine print, but for daily use, most of these things work well enough that the complaining feels a bit much. Tbh, if "fast charging" meant charging your phone in 5 minutes flat, people would still find something to gripe about.
