Warning: The new wireless sensors need a different drill bit.
Been installing the same brand for years. Their new model has a plastic housing that cracks if you use the old metal bit. Found out after three broken units on a job in Phoenix. Now I use a smaller bit and go slow. Anyone else run into this with the updated gear?

Just glad I learned that lesson on my own dime.

My first car taught me that lesson with a $500 repair bill lol.

Switched to a brad point bit for the plastic housings. It punches a clean hole without grabbing and cracking the shell. Started using a cordless drill on its slowest speed setting too. The extra minute per install beats replacing a fifty dollar sensor.
